Specifically, the Forum will focus on the insight and ideas being circulated by Washington DC policymakers. Furthermore, it will give USDLA members and others the opportunity to hear what is most current in government policy and listen to new ideas and thoughts being shared about the distance learning industry.

A Note from The USDLA Public Policy Forum Chair

The USDLA Board of Directors is excited to be able to present the 2010 Public Policy Forum. Distance learning continues to grow exponentially across the country, and is now poised to play a more direct role in federal education plans. This year's Forum offers a chance to listen and interact with key educational policy leaders in Washington D.C. Join us as we hear about and discuss current national issues affecting distance learning. We already have two exciting speakers on tap, Congressman Robert E. Andrew (D-NJ) (Member, House Education & Labor Committee; Chairman, Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions (HELP); Member, House Armed Services Committee; Member, Terrorism and Unconventional Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee; Member, Strategic Forces Subcommittee; Member, House Budget Committee) and James Kvaal, Deputy Under-Secretary, U.S. Department of Education and former special assistant to President Obama for economic policy. There will be opportunities to network with your fellow attendees, and we have structured the Forum to allow you time to meet with your local congressional members.

We look forward to seeing you in D.C. in September!
Rob Robinson
Chair, Public Policy Forum
