Dr. Pease is President of an educational
consulting NOOSA Enterprises, Inc, PEASE & Associates (dba). She
has provided consultation worldwide by serving to: evaluate post-secondary
educational investment opportunities for financial investors; developing
accreditation documents for both for-profit and not-for-profit colleges
and universities; and developing strategic business and operational
plans for institutions of higher education, especially for launching
and sustaining online learning enterprises. She is recognized for her
creativity, entrepreneurial skills and operational successes in blending
technology and education.
She served for over seven years,
as President of the first totally online, accredited university known
as Jones International University®, Ltd. (‘JIU’). She
is responsible for JIU becoming the first totally online university
to receive regional accreditation in the United States. In 2004, under
her leadership, JIU was granted a seven year continuation of this accreditation.
In addition, she is the driving force behind launching the university’s
virtual model and developing all aspects of its business. She was recognized
with a formal award in 2004 by JIU’s Board of Trustees as the,
Outstanding Achievement by an Individual.
She has presented and written extensively
worldwide on issues related to implementing new communications technologies
within the context of distance education. During her presidency, she
actively managed GATE (Global Alliance for Transnational Education).
The international membership organization worked on quality issues related
to providing higher education internationally. She is responsible for
securing a $1.8 million project for a multi-year project to establish
a Virtual Academy for the United Nations Development Project (UNDP)
that has educated its top leaders in over 100 countries. In addition,
she has worked on policy issues in Washington, D.C. that enabled JIU
and other online institutions to receive access Federal Student Financial
Aid.
In 1999, she was awarded United States
Distance Learning Association’s (USDLA), Most Outstanding Achievement
by an Individual in Higher Education. In years 2001-03, she was recognized
as an Outstanding Business Leader in the Denver Business Journal's Annual
Who’s Who in High Technology, Telecommunications and Media. She
serves as a member on several boards and commissions including: the
United States Distance Learning Association; Oklahoma State University’s
Institute for Telecommunications; and the American Society of Training
and Development, and the National Governor’s Association Commission
on Technology and Adult Learning. She has actively served as a Consultant-Evaluator
for the accreditation agency The Higher Learning Commission, North Central
Association.
Prior to her appointment as President,
she served as Vice President of Academic Programs for JIU, Vice President
of Educational Program Development for the educational cable network
ME/U, Vice President of Programming for TI-IN Network, Inc., a leading
satellite-based network that delivers live, interactive academic courses
to students and teachers across the United States; and as Executive
Director of TI-IN's United Star Network, a $9.7 million multi-state
project funded through the U.S. Department of Education's Star Schools
Program.
Dr. Pease holds a Doctorate and Masters
in Communication Theory and Research from the Annenberg School of Communication
at the University of Southern California. In addition, Dr. Pease earned
a Masters in Interactive Telecommunications from the New York University.
