AND USDLA TEAM UP TO TAP INTO THE NEED FOR DISTANCE LEARNING
EXPERTS
Boston, MA —Nova Southeastern
University’s Fischler School of Education and Human
Services will launch the Distance Learning Leaders Certificate
Program, October 8-9, 2004, as part of a partnership between
NSU and the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA),
to tackle the emerging needs of today’s managers for
new leadership skills, distance learning knowledge and applications,
best practices, and hands - on activities.
The two-day site based program
followed by a six week online component provides leaders responsible
for directing overall distance education and training initiatives
with the critical skills needed to succeed in a distance learning
environment, including establishing strategic direction, procurement,
implementation, distance learning management, and evaluation.
The Distance Learning Leader
Certificate Program is designed for professionals in a wide
range of positions including Chief Learning Officers, Higher
Education/University Distance Education Directors, Training
Directors and Managers, Educational Technology Directors,
and Teachers. “This is a ‘must-take course’
for anyone in the distance learning industry”, said
Dr. John G. Flores, Executive Director of the USDLA.
Classes for the Distance Learning
Leader Certificate program will be held at the state of the
art wireless and interactive technology center at the Alvin
Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center
at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
