It is with pleasure that Bill
Jackson, current Senior Vice President for USDLA Chapters
announces the election of Kris Phelps as the new USDLA Vice
President-Elect for Chapters. Kris is currently the Manager
of the Off-Campus Credit Programs and Distance Education for
Iowa State University and currently President for the Iowa
Distance Learning Association.
Her educational credentials
include a BA degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio
and certification in Special Education from Ohio State University.
She is currently a graduate student in Higher Education with
an emphasis in Adult Education.
Kris has presented professionally
at the Iowa ASTD Conference, the South Dakota Teachers Conference,
Drake University Brag N Steal Day, the Distance Teaching and
Learning Conference in Madison Wisconsin and the Outreach
Scholarship Conference at Penn State University.
Bill looks forward to working
with Kris this coming year and notes, “that the knowledge
and experience Kris brings to the position will prove to be
an invaluable asset to the USDLA.” Please join Bill
in congratulating Kris on her election and extending a warm
welcome to the newest member of the USDLA leadership team.
Kris looks forward to “working
the State Chapter presidents and the USDLA Board as we work
together to serve the needs of the Distance Learning Community
during this time of enormous change in the face of higher
education.”
