USDLA Announces National
Membership Benefits for State Chapter Members
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Friday,
October 3, 2003
We are happy to
announce that the USDLA Board recently voted to include all
of your chapter members as full members of USDLA. Two conditions
are required, however. Your chapter must be in good standing
with USDLA, which means dues paid for the current fiscal year
(July 1, 2003-June 30, 2004) and the chapter must supply national
a roster of its members in good standing.
As we announced
earlier this year, each chapter will receive an invoice to
retain their good standing with USDLA. Invoices and dues forms
will follow shortly. Chapters will be invoiced the traditional
$5.00 per member, but in lieu of requiring three officers
to pay $80 for USDLA membership, chapters will be invoiced
a re-chartering fee of $200, a savings of $40.00 per chapter!
Total fees paid by each chapter will not exceed $1,000 per
chapter this fiscal year, but over the next couple of years
we will need to remove that $1,000 limit for our chapters
that exceed 200 members.
Our goal is to
increase overall membership in the distance learning community
through the state chapters and provide greater services and
products to our membership. There are still issues to address
in this newer and more supportive-relationship between our
national organization and the chapters. But as of now, your
members will receive full access to the web site including
a members-only section, all e-mail newsletters and news alerts,
and discounts to conferences and expos throughout the country.
As USDLA and the state chapters continue to grow, additional
benefits will be provided to the membership.
So, as we start
a new year, please join us in supporting the growth and development
of our distance leaning community-of-interest within your
state and across the nation.
