The Division of Distance Education at Eastern Oregon University seeks employment applications for a Distance Education Advisor/Coordinator and Center Director for Union County 12 month, full-time (1.0 fte) non-tenure track, Administrative Faculty Position

Responsibilities include:

Advising EOU out-of-state, degree-seeking students, who choose to participate in on-line formats, in any one of the non-teacher-prep BA/BS degree programs available via distance education (Business Administration, Liberal Studies, Philosophy/Politics/ Economics, PE/Health Emphasis, etc.), including instructing such students in an on-line, non-credit Degree Planning Workshop on an “as-needed” basis.     Approximately .5 fte

Recruiting, providing live orientation and degree planning workshops, and advising students throughout Union County, Oregon, who choose to pursue their EOU bachelor degree goals through distance education.    Approximately .2 fte

Coordinating, developing, and managing the logistics, as well as responding to student/faculty issues associated with EOU’s annual provision of approximately 150 courses via Individualized (Independent/ Correspondence) Study.    Approximately .3 fte

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree is required, preferably in a discipline related to adult learning.  In addition, successful employment in a higher education institution is preferred.  Excellent communication skills in both writing and speaking; an ability to cope with change; experience with computers; ability to manage multiple responsibilities and detailed paperwork with minimum supervision; excellent team player and enthusiasm for working with adult students and the opportunities that distance education provides to individuals who are time- and/or place -bound.
