Position AvailableGeorgia Virtual Technical CollegePOSITION: Instructional Designer, Georgia Virtual Technical College DESCRIPTION: Serve as a member of the GVTC creative team responsible for the development, design, building and assessment of online and electronic instructional learning materials. Provide expertise and training in instructional design for distance education and distributed learning materials. Responsible for development and maintenance of GVTC training materials to include the following: instructor and participant training materials such as design documents, lesson plans, training presentations and learning activities. Instruct ID training classes and workshops. LOCATION: Covington - 8100 Bob Williams Parkway, Office of the Georgia Virtual Technical College QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate degree in educational technology, instructional design or distance education from an accredited college or university. Experience: Two to five years ID experience (or the equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience in instructional design and pedagogical methodology for the creation of online and electronic educational materials. Experience working with faculty and instructors in the development of courses or lectures. Other: Excellent written communication skills and the ability to effectively meet or exceed the program development needs of the GVTC. Familiarity with basic creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft FrontPage and Dreamweaver as well as WBT packages such as Blackboard (preferably) or WebCT. Proven track record of developing a broad range of online and distance education offerings with an emphasis on usability, user experience and interface design.
