INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER / ANALYST

The Council on Postsecondary Education seeks a highly motivated professional to work in a team environment as an instructional designer/analyst. The Council has undertaken a major initiative in establishing the Kentucky Virtual University (KYVU) and its companion, the Virtual Library (KYVL). The virtual university provides anytime, anyplace education primarily through Web-based instruction.

This position requires a baccalaureate degree but a master's degree in instructional technology, educational technology, instructional design or a related field is preferred. The best candidate will have 1-3 years experience in instructional technology, and/or instructional design in a higher education or professional training environment and experience in instructional technologies to further the teaching and learning processes. The best candidate will have experience in designing and developing Web-based learning environments, including a working knowledge of Web editors and/or course management tools for support of teaching and learning.

The best candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and communications skills. The position requires an ability to work in a team environment and to represent the KYVU in a professional and collegial way with faculty, students, and other instructional analysts. The best candidate will be able to demonstrate his or her flexibility in times of change. The KYVU is interested to see how the candidate can show that she or he is highly motivated to support the expansion of the KYVU's initiatives, including such projects as www.KYVAE.org or www.KyEducators.org.

Salary is in the mid-40's and is commensurate with experience.
