Online Master of Educational Technology
UBC Faculty of
Education and UBC Distance Education & Technology (DE&T)
Applicants
are now being accepted for a new Master of Educational Technology (MET) Program,
opening in September 2002. Choose a joint University of British Columbia/Tec de
Monterrey Masters degree or one of two associated post-graduate certificate
programs. All courses will be delivered online. Apply online at http://met.ubc.ca/
-- click on "Apply Online" under the Admissions/Registration section.
Background
The
MET is a joint program with Tec de Monterrey (ITESM, Mexico). It is based on the
highly successful and award-winning Post-Graduate Certificate in
Technology-Based Distributed Learning (TBDL), designed, developed and delivered
by DE&T and Tec de Monterrey from 1997-2002. Like the former TBDL, the MET
Program is a professional development program aimed at education professionals
working in technology-supported learning environments and/or interested in
exploring issues related to education and technology.
*If
you are a former TBDL Student, you may apply to have most of your courses
transferred for credit toward any of the new programs.
Program
Offerings
The
MET Program has been designed to allow students to focus on their area of
teaching/education expertise -- the adult/post-secondary sector, or the
primary/secondary (K-12) sector. You may choose between the 10-course Masters
degree, or one of two 5-course Certificate Programs: The Post-Graduate
Certificate in Technology-Based Distributed Learning (TBDL), or the
Post-Graduate Certificate in Technology-Based Learning for Schools (TBLS).
Both
of the certificates can be laddered into the Master in Educational Technology.
You may also choose to take individual courses for professional development.

high-quality courses taught by expert instructors, the MET Program offers the

courses in English, Spanish, or both

regardless of where they live, and the opportunity to interact with a diverse,
global group
