Chief Learning Officer Magazine
Mails to Subscribers
New Publication Addresses Corporate Learning Executives
Chicago, Sept. 3, 2002 -- MediaTec Publishing Inc. today announced it
has mailed the premier issue of its newest publication, Chief Learning Officer
magazine. The bi-monthly magazine has shipped to a base readership of 25,000
executives who develop, implement or fund enterprise-wide learning initiatives
at large corporations. Articles from the premier issue and free subscriptions
to Chief Learning Officer are also available at http://www.CLOmedia.com.
Featuring articles, columns and case studies from top authors and industry-leading
corporations, the first issue of Chief Learning Officer is designed
to help executives maximize investments in workforce development programs by
sharing best practices from global corporations. Each issue will include feature
articles, expert columnists, profiles of learning executives and case studies
that provide insights executives can implement in their own learning programs.
Each issue also contains original market research designed to help measure the
learning market and quantify successful initiatives in place at leading companies.
"The role of the chief learning officer (CLO) is still being defined at
many major corporations, and Chief Learning Officer magazine will
help these industry-leading executives make the transition to the learning culture
that will transform successful businesses," said Norm Kamikow, president
and editor in chief of MediaTec Publishing. "Savvy executives already know
that the key to future growth is the proper training and ongoing development
of their associates. Chief Learning Officer will ease that process
by sharing methods that work for major corporations and unveiling the best practices
that are adoptable at all levels of industry."
The first issue of Chief Learning Officer spotlights such companies
as Allstate Insurance, AstraZeneca, British Telecom, Century 21, General Motors,
IBM, Northwest Airlines, Sun Microsystems and Toyota. Feature articles look
at the CLO's role at major corporations, examine how learning programs can improve
sales-force effectiveness, spotlight successful global learning initiatives
and quantify learning investments at large firms.
"With this initial Chief Learning Officer, we've set the stage
for future issues, putting together a formula that will help executives learn
from the learning efforts already working for large corporations," said
Tim Sosbe, editorial director for Chief Learning Officer. "By unveiling
the best practices already in place and providing a medium for peer-to-peer
communications, Chief Learning Officer will create a community
that executives can join to help their businesses, and their own careers, thrive."
