Associate Director for Online Programs

Reporting to the Director of CIDDE, the Associate Director will oversee a new office that will assist in the launching of a number of school and departmentally-based online professional masters and certificate programs. The Associate Director will work closely with other CIDDE managers to ensure that instructional designers and instructional technology personnel are effectively deployed in support of specific online programs and will contract, as necessary, with third-party providers of technical and professional services. Academic and technical qualifications will preferably include a doctorate in a relevant field and a background in instructional design and instructional technology

Online English Teacher

The Division of Health Education at Texas A&M University seeks applicants to join an outstanding faculty of health educators in a program offering B.S., M.S., M.Ed., Ed.D. and Ph.D. degrees in Health Education.  The Division of Health Education is seeking a highly qualified health educator for the position of Director of the Office of Health Informatics (OHI).  The OHI offers graduate and undergraduate courses to over 3,000 students and has an operating budget of approximately $450,000 per year.  In addition to the Director, the OHI staff includes a full time Administrative Assistant, 6 to 7 graduate assistants and two student workers.  The OHI has a close working relationship with the Center for Distance Learning Research.

Successful candidates for this position must hold a master degree (doctoral degree preferred) in Health Education or a closely related discipline and must demonstrate a record or potential to contribute to the mission of the Division of Health Education within the Department of Health and Kinesiology.  

The essential duties of this non-tenure earning position are listed as follows:

Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Office of Health Informatics.  Develop strategic plans to design, implement, market and evaluate distance education courses and programs.  Serve as a liaison between the Office of Health Informatics and the Center for Distance Learning Research.  Work with the Health and Kinesiology and College of Education and Human Development faculty and staff on budgeting and policy issues.  Hire, supervise and train the Office of Health Informatics staff and other Informatics initiatives.  Oversee the purchase and maintenance of technological equipment and software personnel.  Appoint, evaluate and monitor outside consultants contracted to work on the Office of Health in the Office of Health Informatics Center.  Other duties as required.

DESCRIPTION:
The Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Director for Online Programs. This position is responsible for student support services for distance education students in addition to working with department chairs to expand online programs and faculty teaching distance education and blended learning courses .

Duties will also include working closely with the marketing manager to recruit new students for the online programs, developing a comprehensive student support service unit and facilitating faculty evaluation for all online courses. This position reports to the Assistant Provost and Director of the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning.

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree and 5-7 years of experience in a higher education or comparable environment. Individual must have strong computer skills; experience with a content management system with the Blackboard learning management system preferred; ability to manage projects and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills required.

Demonstrated supervision of professional staff is a must.
